Napoleon Hill (1883-1970)
"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve." ~Napoleon Hill
Napoleon Hill was born of humble beginnings in 1883 and lived in a one-room cabin on the Pound River in Wise County, Virginia. Napoleon's mother died when he was 8 years old. Later his father re-married and his step-mother became his guiding light and inspiration. Napoleon and his brother had planned to attend Georgetown University intending to become lawyers. Napoleon planned on paying his way through school by writing stories success stories for a magazine. Napoleon’s first assignment was to interview Andrew Carnegie. This was a pivotal point in the young Napoleon’s life. Andrew Carnegie gave Napoleon a 3 hour interview and then asked Napoleon to his home where he kept him for 3 days and nights discussing a new success philosophy for the common man. Andrew asked Napoleon if he would be willing to devote 20 years of his life to interviewing the most successful men in this country and work without pay. The only thing Andrew would provide is letters of introductions to the young Napoleon and in the early years pay for his expenses. Something inside of Napoleon prompted him to accept this commission. Mr. Hill has interviewed over 500 of the United States’ richest people. What he learned from the richest people in the world was distilled into his most famous work, "Think and Grow Rich" (1937). At the time of Hill’s death in 1970, this book was one of the best-selling books of all time. I’ve provided a very special treat, videos of Napoleon Hill sharing his success secrets.
